Cher celebrated her 75th birthday by revealing that an official film about her life and career is currently in production. The award-winning singer and Oscar-winning actress said in a tweet that the biopic will be written by Eric Roth, known for its author. Forrest Gump, A star is born and many other films.

Producers Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman are close friends, as well as colleagues, she added. The project will arrive via Universal, although no target date has been given.

“Cher met Craymer and Goetzman in 2018 Mamma Mia! Here we go again, and Craymer said it was an easy game to team up, ”Deadline reported. “They keep the exact details of the movie to themselves, but it won’t be a break-in musical like Mamma Mia! and probably more likely a closer cousin of a biopic like Bohemian Rhapsody. “

“Gary and I are delighted to be working with Cher again and this time bringing her true odyssey of life on the big screen,” Craymer commented. “One cannot help but be drawn to and inspired by Cher’s larger than life talent, courage, unique spirit, warmth and vision. Her unparalleled success in musical films and on television has inspired generations. Couldn’t be happier to tell his story to movie audiences.

Last year, Cher admitted that the memoir she announced three years earlier was far from over.

There are a lot that you like, and there are some that weren’t fun and that you didn’t enjoy and that were painful and you have to decide: how far do I want to go? But I am brave enough.

She added that “you remember things that aren’t things you think about all the time. And you think, ‘Do I want to put that in there? But if you’re going to write something like this, you’ll only do it once.
