Concert benefits San Angelo boy battling cancer

CHRISTOVAL – The backyard of a house in Christoval was packed on Saturday during a benefit concert to help a 6-year-old boy from San Angelo fight brain cancer. While groups played near crowds of people, Liam “The Warrior” Price spent the afternoon playing with a group of children. All proceeds from the concert will go to help Price fight the disease.
Price’s cancer was discovered in October 2016 when he was taken to an emergency room where hospital staff performed a CT and MRI scan that revealed a softball-sized tumor on his brain. Price has been fighting cancer since the age of 2.
The event, known as Mystery Fest, featured the 10th version of the NDC Mystery Band performing at the Anson Street Amphitheater in Christoval. The Mystery Fest lineup included the NDC Mystery Band with Jonathan Matthews, Drawing a Blank, A Little Disorganized, Psychobilly Cadillac, The Lava Lamps, Shineola, Maggie Blair, Sam Knox and Trading Company.
The NDC Mystery Band is known to periodically come out of retirement to perform shows that raise funds for someone in need.
Liam has a Facebook page where his family and loved ones post updates on his condition at https://www.facebook.com/groups/367062743634282/.
