Daryl Hall Announces Spring 2022 US Tour With Todd Rundgren
Daryl Hall has announced a tour of the United States in support of an upcoming two-disc solo retrospective, which will be released on April 1. He will be joined by Todd Rundgren.
Before after covers Hall’s five solo albums, from the 1980s sacred songs to 2011 Laugh Cry, as well as previously unreleased recordings of his Live from Daryl’s house Web and TV series. These live updates include performances with Dave Stewart of Rundgren and Eurythmics.
Hall and Rundgren will hit the road April 1 in Chicago and play through April 16 in National Harbor, Maryland. You can see the full list of tour dates and Before after list of tracks below. Tickets will go on sale beginning Friday at 10 a.m. local time through LiveNation.com.
Hall also posted a live update to Rundgren’s “Can We Still Be Friends” duet, which you can listen to below. Before after is available for pre-order now.
Rundgren and Hall’s professional relationship dates back nearly 50 years. Rundgren produced Daryl Hall and John Oates’ third album, in 1974 war babies, and he and several members of his band Utopia performed on the LP. war babies ditched the blue-eyed soul of Hall & Oates’ first two albums in favor of a more keyboard-heavy hard rock sound, though the duo returned to their roots on their 1975 self-titled album, which spawned the hit of the Top 10 “Sara The smile.”
Hall & Oates recently completed a heavy US tour. Although he confirmed to UCR in April 2020 that a new Hall & Oates album was “moving forward”, Hall is unsure whether the duo will release a new album anytime soon.
“Things have changed,” he said Billboard last June. “I really don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know if I’m going to do a solo record next, or do a [Hall & Oates] registration. I do not really know.
