New details have emerged in the ongoing controversy over former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson.

According to a police report obtained by Rolling stone, the rocker admitted to engaging in a series of virtual sexual interactions with a 19-year-old Dutch fan.

In the report, the bassist explained that he first met the woman after a concert in 2019 in the Netherlands. “They became friends and continued to chat on social media,” the police report said. “The second time they met in person was in the Netherlands in a hotel lobby for coffee and soda. He believes it was February 2020. He said there was no physical contact and they just had a conversation. He said there had never been physical sexual contact between the two.

Although ellefson insisted that in-person meetings never turned sexual, he admitted that their interactions online did. “He said they had about four to five masturbation encounters,” the report explained, adding that “the last online sexual encounter was around February 2021”.

The musician’s partner later admitted “that she had recorded two or three videos of him masturbating without his knowledge or consent.” The woman insisted she only shared the videos with friends, but one of Ellefson’s clips was quickly leaked online, leading to a flurry of controversy, including accusations that the rocker “treated” a minor fan.

Ellefson provided police with photos of the woman’s ID proving her age, as well as screenshots of their messages shared on Snapchat and WhatsApp. The bassist is currently pursuing porn revenge charges against the individual who leaked the video. He doesn’t believe the woman he shared the encounters with is to blame, as she “didn’t extort him in any way” and has voluntarily posted an explanation on his own social media stating in part: “Yes, these video calls took place, but I initiated the [sic] them and I have never been a minor, I have always been a consenting adult. Nothing inappropriate has ever happened before that. Everything was consensual, I am not a victim and I was not treated at all because it was I who initiated it. I was just naive enough to save it and share it with a friend without their permission. In the end, it was all consensual and all online. “

The scandal surrounding Ellefson began in early May when graphic images of the rocker appeared online. At the time, the Megadeth co-founder called them “private and personal conversations and interactions”, which while “certainly embarrassing” were published “to do as much damage as possible to my reputation, career and family.”

After initially holding her judgment on the situation, Megadeth severed ties with Ellefson. In a statement, frontman Dave Mustaine explained that “with an already strained relationship, what has already been revealed now is enough to make it impossible to work together to move forward.”
