Meet the Queens of Drag Race United Kingdom Season 4
RuPaul has certainly chosen a colorful lot this season. Drag queens came from all over the UK to kill on the track and go all the way to the top.
1. Baby
Baby, 25, from South London. Calling herself Baby to signify that she is the youngest of five siblings, this “London Afro-punk princess” has been doing drag for four years. She studied musical theater and she is more than ready to show off her dancing and singing skills on the catwalk.
2. Black Peppa
Black Peppa, 29, represents the island of Saint Martin. His fierce drag style has been known since 2014. Plus, his screen name is a spicy touch to Peppa Pig. Unlike the cartoon character, Black Peppa can rock the scene through splits and hollows.
3. Gorgeous Cheddar
Describing herself as the “Queen Bee of Manchester”, Cheddar Gorgeous, 38, is the first Drag Race United Kingdom diva with a doctorate. Since her early years, she has been obsessed with science fiction and fantasy. As Season 4 begins, we’ve yet to see if that level of intellect will carry over to the series.
4. Copper Top
Copper Topp is a 38-year-old resident of Cheltenham Spa who grew up admiring British icons Julie Walters and Victoria Wood. His drag is based on his love of pantomime and shows like Give me ! Give me ! Give me ! and fab fab.
5.Dakota Schiffer
This drag queen has always been intrigued by the era of 60s and 90s models. Sussex resident Dakota Schiffer is a 22-year-old fashion addict. She described her hometown as having “absolutely no drag scene”. Hence, she is making history as the first British drag diva in her locality.
6. Danny Beard
This 29-year-old Liverpool native is known for her signature white face makeup. Although having a beard is something unlikely for a drag queen, Danny Beard considers his stubble an asset. The “sassy, sleazy, singing cartoon clown” makes it his mission to wow the jury by mixing edgy fashion with old-school flirt.
7. Jonber Blonde
Johnbers Blonde is a 33-year-old drag queen representing Northern Ireland. This diva has been dragging for around 14 years and calls herself “East London royalty”. At the same time as a queen, he worked as a model, fashion editor and dancer.
8. Just May
Popularly recognized for her parody of Ginger Spice, Just May, 32, wants to unlock a personality beyond being a Geri Halliwell impersonator. She expresses her drag style in a campy and nostalgic way. Going forward, this season is to be expected to be wilder than ever.
9. The Yarn
The Thread dubs itself the “singing, dancing, sewing Chinese pop star of Brighouse”. This 36-year-old drag diva emerged from the underground queer scene and eventually found herself in the global spotlight. In three words, Le Fil defines their drag as “androgynous, Asian and sensational!”
10. Polished Pixie
Increasingly fond of Disney and Tinkerbell, Pixie Polite finds it liberating to have such a screen name for a major drag diva. The 29-year-old Brighton native is ready to steal the show and isn’t afraid to show off a strong personality when needed.
11. Sminty Drop
Inspired by the peppermint drop and still wanting to kiss boys, 23-year-old Sminty Drop got ready to sashay the runway. She thinks she is “literally the epitome of contemporary British drag”.
12. Starlet
Aiming to showcase vintage beauty on screen, Starlet is a 25-year-old Surrey native who has a large Instagram-based fanbase. Historically, she is the first South African queen to join Drag Race UK.
