Sammy Hagar was also a former member of the band.

Talking about his recent The Night Nuge youtube stream, Ted Nugent sent words of praise for Brian May, Eddie Van Halen, High ZZ, Journey, and more. It seemed like he had immense respect for them, as he showed his respect over and over again.

“When you apply a higher level of consciousness to musical creativity and musical appreciation, and when you get to have a band like the Damn Yankees where Tommy Shaw, Jack Blades and Michael Cartellone are on your side,” says Ted .

“And you take the stage with REO Speedwagon, Cheap Trick, Heart, Journey, Foreigner or ZZ Top. I was able to get on stage with all these bands and play music.

“I got on stage with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Brian May, Eddie Van Halen and Sammy Hagar, his amazing band,” he added. “I was just so lucky. I played with Steve Winwood one night in New York in Little Speakeasy.

“So my musical cravings have driven me to pursue other musical geniuses, all those bands I just mentioned and so many thousands more.

“But again, every time I played with any of those bands that I mentioned, I could feel the influence of Chuck Berry, and certainly, Little Richard, who won a punk band, tries to beat Little Richard!

“And certainly, the soul of the Motown Funk Brothers, BB King, Freddy King, Albert King, Howlin’ Wolf, Mose Allison, all those original blues gods. They influenced every piece of music out there.

Ted Nugent’s comforting words for Eddie Van Halen

Last May, Ted Nugent had sent comforting words for late Van Halen member Eddie Van Halen. In the interview, Ted nugent has been asked to choose the best guitarist in the history of rock. legendary singer nugent appointed Eddie Van Halen as the best guitarist.

“There are so many,” he said. I’ll go ahead and give it to Eddie Van Halen because he was so diverse not only in his histrionics but also in his groove. He had an incredible organic sense of rhythm in his delivery not only of thrilling lead guitar parts, but also in his grind of a groovy beat as a white kid.

He really challenged the history of who can groove like that. Because I come from the world of the Funk Brothers of Motown, so I know what the groove gods are like. And Eddie Van Halenthe times I jammed with him and just listening to the records you could tell he had an amazing, weird Superman sense of rhythm beyond his outrageous athleticism on the fretboard.
