Maisie Williams freaked out about Pistol’s character while watching her TV show – Film News | Film-News.co.uk

Maisie Williams initially freaked out when she found out her Pistol character would be on set watching her film the new miniseries.
In Pistol, which follows the rise of the Sex Pistols, the Game of Thrones actress plays Jordan, the model who worked alongside designer Vivienne Westwood and helped launch the punk rock look in the ’70s in London.
Jordan, real name Pamela Rooke, served as a consultant on the show and was allowed on set, and Maisie felt a lot of pressure to have the real version of her character watch her work.
“It was a lot of pressure, but honestly, I never needed to feel anything. Jordan was never confrontational. She just knew what was what, and if things weren’t right, she said so,” she told British Magazine GQ. “I realized, every time, I know what I was getting with her, and it’s me who’s unpredictable… (I thought to myself) stop thinking that everything is either amazing or terrible. Be correct.”
As she prepared to play Jordan, the 25-year-old realized she needed to tone down her mannerisms.
“I’m very emotional in the way I communicated, but it was just consistent,” Maisie explained. “I had to stop wiggling my eyebrows while I played her because not only does she have the most amazing makeup, but her expression is painted – she never moves.”
Maisie admitted she was hesitant to take on the role at first as it required a lot of nudity and after expressing her concerns, director Danny Boyle explained that Jordan had a habit of showing off his body to “put other people in trouble.” ‘easy”.
For her second audition, she played Jordan wearing a sheer top with no bra underneath during a Zoom call and booked the role.
Pistol airs on Hulu and Disney+ later this month.
