MEGADETH’S DAVE MUSTAINE Teams Up With GIBSON For ‘Songwriter’ Acoustic Guitar

Gibson unveiled the latest addition to the Dave Mustaine collection, Davidthe first acoustic guitar with Gibson, songwriter Dave Mustaine. For the new acoustic guitar, Gibson acoustic luthiers in Bozeman, Montana have collaborated with Mustainethe legendary guitarist, singer, songwriter and founder of multi-platinum selling and Grammy Award-winning group MEGADETH. The Gibson Dave Mustaine Songwriter in Ebony is available in standard and limited edition versions, signed by the artist. The entire Dave Mustaine collection is available now at select global retailers and on Gibson.com.

Part of the Dave Mustaine Collection, the new Dave Mustaine Songwriter in Ebony is the first 24-fret neck ever installed on a Gibson acoustic guitar. With a slightly thinner walnut body, the Dave Mustaine Songwriter Guitar features a cutaway for easy access to the upper frets. An extremely limited edition version of the Dave Mustaine Songwriter in Ebony signed by Dave Mustaine is also available.

Gibson is honored to work with Mustainewho formed MEGADETH at the dawn of the American thrash metal movement. Mustaine has sold 50 million records worldwide, won six platinum albums and is a Grammy Award winner, cancer survivor and Certified First Degree Black Belt in Ukidokan Karate, and Songahm Taekwondo, Honorary Fourth Degree Black Belt and World Taekwondo Federation Goodwill Ambassador, and is currently on his way to a First Degree Black belt in Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu.

Renowned worldwide and synonymous with metal guitar, Mustaine based MEGADETH in 1984 and less than a year later debuted with the release of “Killing is my business… And business is good!” in 1985. MEGADETH has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, winning numerous accolades along the way, including a Grammy Award for the title track of his latest album “Dystopia”as well as 12 others grammys nominations, as well as five consecutive platinum/multi-platinum albums.
