NOFX’s Fat Mike Reveals New Project Co-Defendants, Releases Two Singles: Stream

Few months ago, Fat Mike revealed that 2023 will be Last year for his longtime punk band NOFX. The leader does not give up his musical career, however, since he has just unveiled his new Codefendants project.

The co-defendants are described in a press release as a “genre-fluid musical collective – a cross between hip hop, new wave, flamenco and The Beatles.” The main cast are Fat Mike, Sam King and Ceschi Ramos, with the band’s origin described as follows:

“Sam King of the Get Dead graffiti team was doing tattoos and flash art to raise money to help rapper Ceschi Ramos when he was in prison. Months later, they met at the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, Calif. They bonded, talking about their love of hip-hop and punk rock, over a bottle of Jameson’s. They didn’t know it yet, but they had just started co-accused. They began recording songs two years later in Los Angeles with NOFX’s Fat Mike as producer.Soon after Fatty joined the band, they decided to make an album unlike anything else. will be released in early 2023.”

The co-defendants unveiled two singles, “Suicide By Pigs” and “Abscessed”, the second of which was quietly released last month on YouTube. While the video for “Abscessed” is Episode 2 of a “cinematic pentalogy” and the video for “Suicide By Pigs” is Episode 1, it is recommended that you watch “Abscessed” first, as they appear below. below.

Both songs are available via Fat Wreck Chords on a 10-inch split vinyl release that also includes two songs by punk band Get Dead.
