Pierce the veil are back! The San Diego band just shared the lyric video for the brand new song “Skip Nirvana.”
Pierce the veil who rolling stone once described as “hyperactive and progressive post-hardcore” serve up a new track full of fuzzy guitars, massive melodic hooks and Pierce the veilis the distinct emotional core. “Skip Nirvana” it’s quite the riff fest and it marks Pierce the veilis the first new music from since 2016. “‘Pass the Nirvana’ is about the many horrific traumas American youth have endured in recent years”, says the leader Vic Fuentes on the powerful, relevant and topical subject of the song. “COVID, no proms, no degrees, an insurrection, school shootings. The list continues. Their lives have been tossed about like clothes in a dryer, as tensions within our country seep into our own homes, friends and families. For me the song represents a euphoric detachment from all that anxiety and stress and finding some form of peace or nirvana.

A decade after its release, the single already platinum “King for a Day” shot at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hard Rock Streaming chart, driven by the viral hashtag #KingForADay on ICT Tac. The song had quite a moment in pop culture, as a global music superstar Lizzo used the track in a video on the platform. This shows how much PTVis the iconic catalog of – and how vital the band and their new material remains.
At present, Pierce the veil are the rawest, crackling with urgency and immediacy.
