Provoker announces debut album Body Jumper and shares new single “Bugs & Humans”
Following the announcement of signing with their label in May, Los Angeles’ own Provoker announced their debut album. Bodysuit Sweater, August 13 via YEAR0001. The group’s post-punk and industrial trends are another exciting act on the eclectic YEAR0001 roster, accompanied by Yung Lean, Bladee and Ecco2k.
The announcement is accompanied by the band’s new single “Bugs & Humans”, an ode to the upbeat new wave sound with their darker, R&B-influenced twist. Singer Christian Petty structured the song to be from a child’s perspective, ultimately shifting to the darker lens of an adult feeling alienated. The accompanying video directed by Alexis Gross captures the song’s descent into madness as it becomes clear that childlike innocence is fleeting.
Provoker is expected to perform several tour dates in support of the album, with their hometown album release show at The Echo in Los Angeles, Calif. On September 9.
