Native swiss Sam himself preparing the release of his first album Power ballads, which will be released in October.
He recently shared his single “Nothing Like The Night”, a song which is described as dealing with the “claustrophobia, pressure and uncertainty” of the lockdown and deals with the “temptation to surrender to the proverbial night of these days”.
The track finds a late-night post-punk and new wave sound that captures a sense of melancholy and emotion, while delivering a groovism that feels anthemic and bigger and more alive, despite a sense of insularity. This song is begging to be played at maximum volume late at night, despite your neighbor’s wishes.
About the song, he added:
âMy worst habits got much stronger in the loneliness of the start of the pandemic. I felt lost and uprooted enough, exiled without a witness to warn against the self-destructive behaviors that seemed to be coping mechanisms at the time. âNothing Like the Nightâ is about ways to escape and lose control when you suddenly have a perfect alibi for self-indulgence: the end of the world as you know it.
