The Rolling Stones Announce Liverpool Support Act – Echo & The Bunnymen – Metal Planet Music

The rolling stones unveiled the very special guest set to open Liverpool’s next show of their brand new ‘SIXTY’ European tour today, in celebration of the band’s 60th anniversaryand anniversary.
Making their long-awaited return to their home turf in the UK, the Stones’ gig at Liverpool FC’s home, Anfield Stadium, is the band’s first-ever stadium gig in that city and their first in Liverpool for over fifty years. . This will be followed by two shows at London’s BST Hyde Park later this summer.
The Rolling Stones opening for the ‘SIXTY’ tour at Anfield on Thursday June 9 will be the legendary band from Liverpool echo and the bunnies.
Echo & The Bunnymen’s dark, swirling fusion of post-punk and Doors/The Velvets-inspired pop psychedelia has taken the band to twenty Top 20 hits and nine Top 20 albums in the UK so far. in 40 years of existence.

The band have come a long way since the band’s infamous first gig as a trio with a drum machine in 1979 at the legendary Erics club in Liverpool, still performing sold-out gigs around the world today.

The Rolling Stones’ “SIXTY” follows the hugely successful critically acclaimed and highest-grossing U.S. “No Filter” tour, which saw the band play to sold-out stadiums across the United States, selling over half a million tickets in fall 2021.
A four-part film series, My Life as a Rolling Stone, will air on BBC TV Two and BBC iPlayer this summer. It tells the story of the Rolling Stones in a way that has never been done before – looking at the band through each member’s musical lens, delving deep into their personalities, passions and memories of the past sixty years.
