Watch Mick Jagger Duet in New Brother Chris Video
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is seen duet with his brother Chris on the younger brother’s video for the new single “Anyone Seen My Heart”.
The promo shows the pair working together on the arrangement before performing it. He appears on Chris’ latest album Mix medicine, which was released on September 10. The video is available below.
“I found this obscure poet called Thomas Beddoes,” Chris said in a statement. “I was reading this book by Ezra Pound, and he mentioned Beddoes. I found his book titled Death Joke Book, in which he wrote this kind of strange plays. He was a Bristol poet, and his father knew Shelley, so he came right after the romantic poets. He was an alcoholic and he committed suicide by poisoning himself in Basel in 1849. He was only 45 years old. I read some of his verses, took them and put them to music.
Three of the tracks from the upcoming album, including “Anyone Seen My Heart,” contain words inspired by Beddoes. “Then I realized that ‘mixing drugs’ is also a line in ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’,” Chris added. “I forgot that. But I’m a huge Bob Dylan fan, so that can’t be a bad thing, right?
He also launched a thesis, Talk to myself, September 10. BMG Books publishers reported: “It is Chris Jagger’s turn to unveil one of the most colorful and exotic periods in British cultural history. It unwinds an insider’s story that he grew up among the bomb sites and post-war Dartford ration books, weaving through the scintillating undergrounds of London’s late 1960s counterculture and spending months in India before most took this route. It covers the ups and downs of acting and film work, and the pursuit of his own unique musical adventures that have resulted in a number of albums and gigs around the world. In the end, it is the alluring story of a tight-knit family and deep brotherly bonds.
