Zacky Vengeance sounds like Danzig on the A7X Misfits cover
Avenged Sevenfold enters the Halloween spirit with a cover of Killer Misfits. Portrayed by Zacky Vengeance, Johnny Christ and Brooks Wackerman, the A7X trio painted their faces as KISS meets Misfits and jammed the latter’s underrated anthem “Hybrid Moments”.
Zacky Vengeance really takes him out of the park on this one. Immersed in a Glenn Danzig baritone, the Avenged guitarist feels like a natural horror punk or a psychobilly leader. Of course, bassist Johnny Christ and drummer Brooks Wackerman string together the rhythm section, keeping the Misfits tight so Vengeance can shine.
“We wanted to have a little fun with you to kick off the Halloween season,” said Vengeance. “Brooks wanted to do a Misfits song. I wanted to paint my face like KISS and call us KISSFits and Johnny wanted to drink and walk around town dressed as a skeleton. I forgot to paint my face like KISS. We’ve always kept punk rock and scary to yourself! Enjoy!!”
Avenged Sevenfold, “Hybrid Moments” (Cover of Misfits)
Avenged Sevenfold is a longtime fan of punk rock, even collaborating with NOFX on their new single “Linoleum” “Linewleum”. As for Avenged’s next album, the work should be released before summer 2022.
“It’s a piece of art we’ve been working on for a long time; we had a bunch of personal stuff that we’ll explain later,” singer M. Shadows said. This zebra show from space. “But we are booking concerts for next summer, and the record will be out before then.”
